The belief in a flat-earth is definitely classified as a fable/myth that is designed to turn people from the truth and thus fulfills the prophecy of Paul as stated in 2 Timothy 4:1-4. They will turn away from the truth in order to follow after fabricated stories that pretend to be the truth.
